The Minotaur named Alzahad became Centaurus’s first quest companion. Through thick and thin, they would fight off violent red rattlesnakes and fire medusas in order to find their way out of the forest, and onto greener pastures. But all was not well with their partnership. Centaurus began cracking under the pressure of his mission and his anger.

Alzahad: I knew I made a mistake when I had mentioned the other centaur. I saw a fire burning in his eyes the moment I spoke those words. At first I thought it was just a reflection of the blazing walls that singed my back, but it wasn’t. Something triggered both hope and frenzy in him. He wanted to meet this centaur, but he also wanted to destroy its captors. I started to think that I was better off rotting in my prison. |
The fury of the other centaur’s capture burrowed deep into Centaurus’s heart. His mission was no longer just a quest for truth. It became a quest for justice. It was about that moment when his whole persona changed for the worse. His valiant virtue took an awful turn. He was no longer a hero of the people. He had become a nightmare.
